DESCRIPTION

RNAse A, from bovine pancreas, is an endoribonuclease which specifically degrades single stranded RNA in C and U residues.
Its specific activity is higher than 2500U/mg protein. 1 U is defined as the enzyme quantity that is produced by an increase in absorbance from 1.0 to 260 nm when yeast RNA is hydrolyzed at 37°C, pH: 5,0.
The enzyme remains active in a wide range of reaction conditions. At low salt concentrations (0-100mM NaCl), RNAse A cleaves single stranded and double stranded RNA as well as RNA-DNA hybrids. However, with NaCl concentrations of 0,3 M or more, the enzyme specifically cleaves single stranded RNa.
Working concentration of RNAse A is 1-100 µg/ml depending on the application; it can be dissolved in 10 mM of Tris-HCl pH: 7.5, 15 mM NaCl. It is inactive at 95°C for 10 min.
RNAse A is free of DNAse activity. Heating is not necessary before use.

CONSERVATION

This product is transported at room temperature. It is stable for 1 year at room temperature. For longer periods, keep lyophilized RNAse A at 4°C.
