DESCRIPTION

Highway RNase Inhibitor reduces RNases activity from a great variety of organisms, protecting RNA in different reaction conditions.
Origin: E. coli recombinant bacteria which codify a ribonucleases inhibitor gene. Molecular weight: 49,9 kDa.
Application: RNA degradation inhibition in the following processes:
In vitro transcription, in vitro reverse transcription, in vitro translation, purification of mammal cell fractions with mRNA protein complexes.
Storage buffer: 20 mM HEPES-NaOH (pH 7.5); 50 mM NaCl; 8 mM DTT; 0.5 mM ELUGENT and 50% (v/v) of glycerol.
Activity definition: one activity unit is defined as the necessary quantity of RNase inhibitor in order to inhibit the activity of 5 ng of RNase in 50%.
Inhibition and inactivation: common denaturants such as SDS, urea and oxidation reagents strongly inhibit RNase inhibitors. Heat total inactivation at 75°C during 10 min.
Protocol: the use of 20 to 40 U (0.5 a 1.0 µl) is suggested for a reverse transcription reaction of 20 final µl.

CONSERVATION

This product is transported with cooling gels and not with dry ice. This is due to the results of stability assays performed in the laboratory which allowed us to conclude that our product has a better performance under these conditions. Once received, keep at -20°C.
